Take Away

The words have changed one me and I don’t know when they decided that the word “carry out” was not a good term for getting food from a restaurant even though you don’t want to eat there.

I used to order from the regular menu and them them to pack it up “to go.” Then I would drive over there, park the car, go inside and pay for the food, and take it all home with me to eat in front of the TV instead of in a huge dining room filled with other people eating and sometimes their bratty kids screaming and whining. It’s just more pleasant to eat at home when you are alone.

I would call that process “carry out” or “to go” but now the proper words are “take away.” I do understand the meaning behind the new words, but what was so wrong with the other ones? Did we really need to change the words?

There is a difference between being alone and being lonely. I like being alone. I like going to bed when I want and not having to deal with someone’s expectations of spending another 30 minutes grunting and sweating. You know what I’m saying? Sometimes i just want to go the fuck to sleep because I’m tired and I need the sleep. If I’m alone I can go to sleep or I can invite someone over if I want to fuck. Thats just the way it is.

A girl I know posted this on her Facebook wall:

“I don’t pretend to be someone that I’m not because I’m pretty great at being ME.” Ya know, almost everyone pretends to be someone they are not on the first couple of dates. They shine their shoes and carefully choose their clothes – even coordinating underwear, shave their legs (girls) or face (guys, I hope), fuss over their hair and all – and then after the deal is sealed they shower less, toss the makeup, wear XXL teeshirts and sweatpants and get fat. Its human nature and I fight that instinct every day.

No Phone Books

If anyone knows how to get word to the publisher of the Yellow Pages and local phone books that keep showing up on my porch or in my driveway, please let me know. I do not use these books and I don’t like the idea that so much paper, gasoline and manpower is wasted producing these monsters that go right into the trash and clogs up the landfills.

I use the internet to find phone numbers and addresses. The only problem that I have is trying to the cell phone numbers of people. I wish there was a way to get cell phone numbers, but when people still have to pay for each minute their phone is in use, I can understand them not wanting to waste minutes on nuisance calls.

Spring Forward – Fall Back

Daylight Savings will be coming to an end soon, I always dread the time changes that we are forced to par take in twice a year. There are so many things that are a hassle when it comes to changing all of our time pieces and I know that I’m not the only one that cringes when we are forced to comply with a law that was put into place so very long ago. I always feel sorry for the folks that are working in stores that carry a large amount of clocks and watches, they must spend hours each time we need to either spring forward or fall back, that must really suck.

Kelly Osbourne

It is good to see how Kelly Osbourne has matured and blossomed nicely. She is busy making appearances all over the television these days promoting “Dancing with The Stars” which is her new passion. The Osbourne’s are a very different and very off the wall type of family, but they seem to keep us coming back for more. Keep up the good work Kelly and good luck.

Uncle Sam Needs You

I was reading an article about the 4th of July. It had many interesting facts about the 4th of July, most of them I knew about but I did learn a few things that were interesting. The one that I found of interest was that in 1843, the U.S. government set up an account to accept gifts from people wishing to express their patriotism. These days, the money is directed to pay down the debt. In 2009, people sent $3,063,057.05. So far this year they have sent in $2,451,266.91. That is a lot of money that our good people are sending in, wouldn’t you say?

The End of Summer

I used to like the end of summer. It meant that Christmas was getting closer. Now that I’m older and Christmas has become such a hassle with all that goes along with it, all the money, the stress, the weather and of course all the family issues it just isn’t something to look forward to anymore.

The only good thing is that we won’t be dealing with the extreme heat that this summer has brought to us. It is good to be able to enjoy the nice cool mornings and the cool breeze in the afternoons. I’ve been missing that for way too long this year.

Adults should have the right to buy toys

It amazes me that there are still people in America that think we need to make selling adult toys illegal and that people who use them are criminals. America has been so sexually repressed for so many generations and it is people who live in the oldest living American generation that are against it because anyone that is younger than 50 has no problems with devices to help you get off better, Any one that has ever used lube knows that it works and helps but most women have a vibrator or dildo hidden away in there room somewhere and know that they are a life saver sometimes.

I just hope this is the last we ever hear of a State in America trying to make the sale of sex toys illegal because some one has morality issues with someone getting a better orgasm.
