Have you watched the movie about Max?

September 20, 2017 // Posted in Living, Movies (Tags: , , ) |  Comments Off on Have you watched the movie about Max?

I stumbled across a good movie the other day I wanted to tell you about if you haven’t watched it already. It’s called Max. Max is a military dog serving with his handler on the front lines in Afghanistan. They send Max into areas first to sniff out weapons. Anyway, I don’t want to give away the whole plot because you should see it yourself, but something happens to Max’s handler and Max is traumatized. He can’t do his job any more and they ship him home. The only person he can really connect with is the younger brother of his handler. He ends up being taken in and cared for by his handler’s family. Like a lot of teenagers, the boy is reluctant to take on such a responsibility and the two are slow to warm up to one another.

As with all good movies, there are unexpected plot twists and excitement and danger. I have to warn you that I was sniffling a bit at the end, but tried to hide the tears from my family. Oh yeah, speaking of family, this movie is very family friendly. I have a lot of respect for the military and love seeing stories about the dogs, so I’m glad I found this movie. Look for it, you will enjoy it.

Fuck yea

Finally the water is warm enough to swim here. I fucking love to go to the creek to swim and hang out in the sun with friends. There is a rope swing and a swim hole that is just deep enough to have fun. I make sure to pack chips and sandwich stuff in case we get hungry as well as soda’s in the cooler to drink. It is not easy to get to the swimming hole we go to. The banks are really steep and getting up and down them can be a pain but are totally worth it.

There was a dog there this past weekend. She stayed in the water trying to catch fish the whole day while we were there. It was so cute. Every now and then, she would go to a shallower part and try to catch crayfish. I have never seen a dog do anything like that before in my life. She must have lived nearby though, because she had a collar with a tag on it and around five o’clock she left. If she hadn’t had that collar we probably would have taken her home with one of us. She was so sweet. I hope she is there next weekend if we go.
