Snow And Ice Brings Out The Crazy Fuckers On The Road

Tonight’s weather forecast calls for the temperatures to drop to the lowest point this year by early morning. We actually have freeze warnings out for entire Metro area. That means that I have to bring in the houseplants and make sure that the antifreeze levels are good in all the vehicles and all that good shit. I still can’t believe that I actually have to wear a winter coat in the morning. That is a sure sign that autumn and anything associated with warmish type weather is long gone. I just hope we don’t get a lot of ice and snow this winter. I can handle the cold (though I would prefer not to) but the precipitation is what makes everything miserable and so fucking dangerous.

We aren’t known for having good drivers in regular situations around here. So when you throw any type of small kink into the mixture, these people around here just totally lose their fucking minds and the roads fill up rather quickly with wrecks along with all types of vehicles that have slid off of the part of the road.that they are supposed to have been on.  So even if there really isn’t much snow and/or ice on the roads I think that playing it safe and cancelling the schools is a good idea. Those big ass yellow school buses are carrying precious cargo that need to be safe from all the crazies that just have to go out in the snow and ice no matter what.

A Good Old Fashioned Kick In The Ass

Back in the day, it used to be that the only time and place a kid would/could get a sticker as a reward for good behavior was either at school or the doctor’s and dentist’s office. But now a days I am seeing all kinds of stores that are handing them out and not necessarily as a reward for good behavior, they are handing them out a lot of times just to get the fucking bratty kid to shut up or to stop the crying or the tantrum that they are experiencing, which to me is just plain wrong. And I don’t think that I’m the only one that feels this way.

Now don’t get me wrong, I usually love kids, but I despise the little shits that are not trained to behave themselves while in a public place and it really gets my goat when they haven’t been taught to say the magic words of please and thank you.  For the most part I blame the parents but sometimes they are just plain BAD kids no matter what the parents say and do, but that is something that their parents need to address. Sometime a good old fashioned kick in the ass can works wonders.

Halloween

With Halloween coming up here soon I’ve been thinking about many of the Halloween festivities of my youth. My own memories of Halloween are really of all the great fun, year after year as I was growing up in the suburbs on the east coast. We lived in an established neighborhood and the parents didn’t worry about letting the kids head out to go door to door for the night. We had to eat dinner first – it was always at 6:00 pm sharp. Then we bolted out the door to catch up with our friends and we had to be home before 10. We never had any trouble with other kids or any fucking perverts. It was always a lot of fun back in the day. We weren’t really thrilled with getting an apple put in our trick or treat bags, but at least we were not afraid to eat the damn thing for fear of a razor blade or some other type of shit being hidden in it.

Things have sure changed. There is no fucking way I would allow my kids to go out on their own, that is if I had any kids, which I don’t.  If they went out, I’d be right there along side with them. I worry about perverts but worry more about gangs of teens and even shootings in some parts of town. I’d walk the streets with my kids and carry the flashlight, and I’d stay at the end of the driveway to let them go to the door on their own. But we all would most definitely go out together and stay together the entire time, and if we don’t know who lives in the house we would just walk on by.
